At what age can I start windsurfing?
- The recommended age is 10, but in some cases you can start earlier, depending on the size of the child.

 

How old are most of the students?
- Anything from 10 to 60. We always put the children together in a single group.

 

Up to what age can you start learning to windsurf?
- There is no limit. We have had 65 year old students.

 

As a sport, is windsurfing difficult to do?
- Not at all. Anyone can learn if you have the right gear to learn and you do not have to be too fit either.


What are the physical benefits of windsurfing as a sport?
- It improves muscle endurance, strengthens the joints, releases tension and stress, helps to enhance self-esteem and many others.

What levels do you teach in the courses?
- All levels, from outright beginners with no experience of any kind of water sports to students who want to improve and learn something new.

What are the minimum requisites for starting to windsurf?
- Know how to swim and want to enjoy yourself with a highly addictive sport.

What’s included in the price of the course?
- All the windsurfing gear, civil liability insurance. It does not include the boots, which are compulsory.

What do I need to take with me for the class?
- All you need to take is a towel, swim suit, boots, sun screen and water. The school will provide the wet suit.

Where do you give the courses?
- At the Bahia de Formas beach, in the South East of the island in the municipal district of Santa Lucia

What is the beach like?
- Small pebbles down to the edge of the water and then sand.

What happens if I miss a class?
- You don’t lose any time that you haven’t “used”. You can do the class another day.

What happens if I don’t finish the course?
- In that case, we have to ask you for a note accrediting that you are giving up the course against your will for reasons beyond your control, otherwise you lose the rest of the course and you don’t get your money back.

Can you hire gear after the classes?
- No, because we understand you are a beginner and it wouldn’t be safe for you to practise on your own.

What can I do to carry on windsurfing after the course?
- Buy a “Pass”. These are cheaper and they are designed so that students can continue windsurfing with school gear and under the supervision of our monitors.

How do I sign up for a course?
- Contact staff reservations via phone or email, and advise you on the course that suits you.

Can I make a booking?
- Yes you can. All you have to do is pay 50% of the course and once your place is confirmed, your booking will be made.
